It runs between the front of the van, to about midway back.

You are looking for the evap Vent control solinoid. Every manufacturer puts them on the charcoal canister, near the gas tank. Diagnosing the evap system on a car can be a pain even with the right tools, so keep that in mind when you are not successful. Just make sure you have a good gas cap seal and no cracked hoses at the charcoal canister before you start tossing parts at this. Otherwise, you might be consumed by the very ill-tempered sea bass.

The EVAP canister on your 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport Montana is mounted low in the corner of the passenger side firewall and frame rail. The EVAP canister purge valve vent solenoid is mounted on the engine below the coils on the firewall side of the engine.
